This retail outlet is located at the 16th mile NH-5, in Chennai – Kolkata highway after the Karanadai bridge Incorporated in 1965, soon after the establishment of Indian Oil, Mr.K.Madhava Rao, had desired to start up a Petrol bunk in the name of Madhava Rao Agencies at Janapan Chatram. Facing many obstacles he overcame them and completed the construction works and commenced retail operations of the bunk on 30th May 1965. He took immense pride in being the 3rd Indian Oil Outlet in Tamil Nadu. As a challenging factor, this region was a dry area 50 years ago. But today, amazingly, this region has tremendously developed and there is a huge amount of floating population using this petrol bunk for fuel needs.

Mr.K.Madhava Rao faced many struggles till 1973 losing a lot in the Credit Business. His volumes were low in the early stages due to low traffic density. After 1983competition started with what was 8 retail outlets to become 65 retail outlets within a radius of 60 Kms. Unlike in 1965 Janapan Chatram is completely transformed now and is one the busiest areas today. In spite of tough competition and facing many challenges, due to the dedicated and sincere effort of Mr.K.Madhava Rao sales has grown from 200Kl in the 70’s to 1500KL at present.

Later in 1988, Mr.K.Suresh Kumar joined hands with his father to promote the business; and he focused primarily on the development of the outlet, specifically in terms of modernization of the bunk,ambience, service and delivery.

After Mr. Suresh kumars’s efforts in modernizing the petrol bunk, today Madhava Rao Agencies has a capacity of 3 HSD (Diesel) underground tanks which includeOne 50KL and Two 20 KL. The two MS (petrol) tanks are of 15 KL capacity each. It has a huge canopy to serve the customers under shade and comfort.
Madhava Rao Agencies also has 4 islands (4-pumps) with 16 nozzles, 10 diesel nozzles and 6 petrol nozzles.

All the above facilities have been added to ensure quick and efficient services to our customers.
